In a groundbreaking move, Churches Action in Relief and Development (CARD) has launched a pioneering project to combat the scourge of early marriages and teenage pregnancies in Nsanje District.
A Call to Action
The initiative, rolled out in two Traditional Authorities, brings together local leaders, community members, and religious institutions to raise awareness and drive behavioral change. At the heart of the project is a recognition that cultural and religious institutions have played a significant role in perpetuating these harmful practices.
“We must acknowledge the past and work together to forge a brighter future,” emphasized Jamaima Phiri, CARD’s Project Officer. “It’s time for us to join forces and create a safer, more supportive environment for vulnerable girls and young women in Nsanje.”
