After months of anticipation, the Nsanje Stadium in Malawi is just a step away from completion. According to Andrew Gogwe, Chairperson of the Stadium Construction Committee, the stadium is slated to open its doors in April 2025.
Construction Nears Completion
Gogwe confirmed that the construction process is almost finished, with only a small portion remaining to be completed. The stadium’s completion is expected to bring a significant boost to the local community, promoting sports development and revenue growth.
FIFA Funding Supports Recovery from Cyclone Idai
The project was made possible through funding from FIFA, in response to the devastating effects of Cyclone Idai, which severely impacted the region in 2019.
